If you see a flood trying to cover your place always get contact numbers from your authorities or you may be able to get the numbers on news's channels and always turn on radio for instructions a about surviving the flood.
Go To Camps Authorized
If the flood situation in your place gets worsened then always go to camps authorized by governments as they are much safer to stay even though its hard to finish up there or the other method is to go to your friend or relatives houses which are safe to stay and not that far to reach.
Prepare Up
So you know your place is going to be under water the next hour or second so immediately take all the important things (clothes,phone,watch,High cost monuments,brushes toothpaste etc) from your house and pack them on 2 bags and don't go higher than 2 bags because it would be harder to control the heaviness of all your items.
Important Supplies
Before you get out of your house you must have 2 bottles of water and some small snacks so that when you are hungry you can use them to prevent starvation. And if you still got time to prepare then have some more food before going to a safer place.
